MIDFLORIDA Credit Union leaders build 2,000 birthday boxes for local school pantries

Lakeland, FL (February 20, 2025) |

MIDFLORIDA Credit Union is proud to announce the successful completion of a large-scale volunteer effort, in which more than 400 of its leaders came together to assemble 2,000 birthday boxes for children in need. These special boxes, filled with cake mix, candles, decorations, and other birthday essentials, will be distributed to school pantries throughout MIDFLORIDA’s service area, ensuring that every child can celebrate their special day.

This initiative aligns with MIDFLORIDA’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities it serves. By partnering with Feeding Tampa Bay, the credit union was able to ensure these birthday boxes will reach children facing food insecurity, providing them with a small but meaningful celebration they might otherwise go without.

“At MIDFLORIDA, we believe in making a difference beyond banking,” said Jill Davis, Chief Marketing Officer. “Every child deserves to feel special on their birthday, and we’re honored to play a role in making that happen. We couldn’t have done it without the support of Feeding Tampa Bay, and we are incredibly grateful for their help in getting these boxes into local schools.”

The birthday box initiative is part of MIDFLORIDA’s larger commitment to community involvement, supporting local families through outreach programs, financial education, and volunteer efforts.
