Minnco Credit Union and FHLB Des Moines award $200,000 to New Pathways’ Hope Lives Here campaign

CAMBRIDGE, MN (July 3, 2025) |

Minnco Credit Union and the Minnco Foundation have announced a $200,000 donation to New Pathways, a nonprofit, supporting families with children experiencing homelessness. The gift supports New Pathways’ Hope Lives Here capital campaign, which seeks to raise $3.5 million to build a new facility in Cambridge that will house up to ten families and provide centralized services under one roof.

Minnco had originally pledged to match up to $50,000 in donations during June. But thanks to a successful grant application submitted by Minnco CFO Rick Borchardt, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines tripled the match, bringing the total to $200,000.

“This is about more than housing,” said Minnco President/CEO Doug Hallstrom. “It’s about restoring dignity. New Pathways steps into the lives of people at their most vulnerable and gives them hope. We’re proud to stand with them.”

New Pathways has served families facing homelessness throughout 5 counties (Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, and Pine) in central Minnesota for 25 years. The new facility will greatly expand its ability to serve families in crisis.
