MSGCU surprises scholarship honorees with special deliveries
CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI (June 16, 2020) — Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union (MSGCU) was pleased to surprise their 2020 Scholarship Honorees with special deliveries last week. Members of the MSGCU Scholarship Committee visited the 33 honorees at their homes to deliver a congratulatory cake, gift bag, and personalized yard sign.
Traditionally, MSGCU recognizes their annual scholarship honorees with a reception for recipients and their family members. However, like many other gatherings scheduled during this time, the credit union had to find a creative way to celebrate the honorees with social distancing measures in mind.
The surprise deliveries are just one-way MSGCU is virtually applauding the achievements of their honorees. The credit union also produced a video tribute, featuring MSGCU team members across many departments of the organization personally congratulating each honoree. The tribute can be found at www.msgcu.org/congrats.
“We love the excitement and pride that recipients experience each year at our scholarship reception,” stated MSGCU Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Ann Jones. “While social distancing requirements meant we couldn’t meet in-person, it was important to keep those same feelings strong this year. As members of our MSGCU family, it felt natural to celebrate each honoree with personal cheers from our MSGCU team members and their families.”
The MSGCU Scholarship Program annually awards $106,500 in scholarships to students, educators, and first responders. This is one of many ways MSGCU shows its commitment to education while helping members on their path to financial wellbeing.
