Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union (MSGCU) congratulates Vice President of Marketing and Business Development Ann Jones on being named a Most Valuable Professional by Corp! Magazine.
The Michigan-based publication annually honors professionals, entrepreneurs, and millennials who demonstrate strong leadership skills in growing and managing successful businesses in our communities. MVP honorees are deserving members of the community who create job opportunities, drive economic growth, nurture community advancements, and lead successful companies. Through their careers, community involvement, and passion, these honorees make Michigan a better place to live and work.
At MSGCU, Jones is responsible for the direction and execution of marketing and communication, community outreach and financial education, and business development efforts while playing an integral role in the strategic direction of the credit union. She actively advances the MSGCU mission by partnering with community organizations to deepen relationships and by expanding the credit union’s reach through integrated communications. Her efforts support Michigan families and community members in their journey to financial wellbeing.
Jones has been honored for her work in advancing financial literacy and health in her previous roles at Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) and Health Alliance Plan (HAP). While at MCUL, she led the development of a professional degree track at a local college for credit union employees who wanted to advance their career in the credit union industry. Under her leadership at HAP, her team developed a community partnership that provided resources for small business owners to offer guidance in their healthcare decisions and understanding of changes in regulations.
“Ann is truly deserving of this award. In her relatively short time here, she has helped propel MSGCU forward with her creative vision for the future and innovative leadership skills,” said MSGCU President/CEO, Peter Gates. “As an organization devoted to the ‘People Helping People’ philosophy, Ann has both embraced and advanced our mission—and she’s just getting started.”
“I am grateful to be honored as an MVP,” said Jones. “For me, success is knowing that my work is contributing to the betterment of the community I am part of and to the members we are serving. Through marketing, community outreach, and consumer education, I have been afforded the opportunity to impact many Southeast Michigan community members and that is very meaningful to me.”
