Details:  MYOI is a program that works to ensure that young people in foster care have successful outcomes in housing, education, employment, community engagement, and health. The program offers an Individual Development Account (IDA), where participants are required to save money for these outcomes every month. The organization matches funds, dollar-to-dollar, up to $1,000 per year for a youth to purchase an asset, such as renting their first apartment, buying a car, funding education, and more.

MSUFCU has partnered with MYOI by providing these IDAs to youths and offering financial literacy trainings to help those in the foster care system build their financial competencies. In sponsoring the Community Awareness and Prevention Event, MSUFCU aims to encourage the community to get involved with the program and aid in the efforts to enable MYOI’s youth to achieve their financial goals.
