NEW YORK, NY (June 12, 2026) |

Municipal Credit Union (MCU), the New York Metro’s largest credit union, has been recognized as one of New York’s Best & Brightest Companies to Work For® in 2026 by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR). This marks the third consecutive year that MCU has received this prestigious certification, underscoring its ongoing commitment to fostering an outstanding workplace environment and culture.

The Best & Brightest Companies to Work For® program identifies and honors organizations that deliver exceptional employment practices and demonstrate an impressive commitment to their employees. Companies receiving this designation are evaluated by an independent research firm based on a wide range of criteria, including leadership, strategic planning, community initiatives and corporate responsibility, recruitment practices, work-life balance and wellness programs and employee development.

“MCU’s mission is rooted in helping hard-working New Yorkers build better tomorrows, and we believe that starts with our employees,” said Kyle Markland, Chief Executive Officer of MCU. “We are committed to creating a workplace where people feel supported, valued and encouraged to grow.”

To date in 2026, MCU has invested $4.8 million in total rewards and benefits to its employees, with $80,000 invested in professional development and more than $35,000 dedicated to wellness and employee appreciation initiatives. Employees have completed 10,671 training hours this year, reflecting MCU’s continued commitment to learning and career growth. Most notably, MCU successfully transitioned 60 teller positions into Member Service Representative roles, creating meaningful career pathways for employees while enhancing the member experience through a more consultative, relationship-based approach. MCU’s commitment to employee well-being has also earned national recognition, including the 2026 Cigna Healthy Workforce Gold Designation, awarded to companies that build programs boosting employee health, engagement and vitality. In 2025, MCU was also certified as a Great Place to Work®, underscoring the organization’s ongoing efforts to foster an engaging, supportive and high-performing workplace culture. “This Best & Brightest recognition reflects the significant investments we've made year after year in career development, employee well-being and creating pathways for advancement across the organization. We're committed to building an environment where people can grow meaningful careers,” added Toni-Ann Sforza, MCU’s Chief Operating Officer.
