NAFCU announces 2013 NAFCU/PAC White Hat Award Winner

WASHINGTON, DC (April 15, 2014)  — The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) has announced that Member’s 1st Federal Credit is the winner of the association’s 2013 White Hat Award. The award is given to the NAFCU member credit union that raised the most money for NAFCU/PAC in the past year.

This is the tenth time that Members 1st FCU, headquartered in Mechanicsburg, Pa., has won the award.

“We are delighted to recognize the outstanding efforts of Member’s 1st FCU and its incredible staff. Member’s 1st FCU sets a standard of achievement that serves as inspiration for other credit unions to support NAFCU’s political efforts in Washington, D.C.,” said Dan Berger, NAFCU’s president and CEO.  “Member’s 1st FCU’s extraordinary efforts made this major milestone a reality and helps to ensure the credit union industry has an active voice before Congress.”

Members 1stFCU is led by President and CEO Bob Marquette. Marquette previously served as a member of the NAFCU Board of Directors and as chairman of the NAFCU/PAC Committee. During his tenure, Marquette made it a priority to help grow NAFCU’s political advocacy and influence on Capitol Hill.

The National Association of Federal Credit Unions is the only national organization that focuses exclusively on federal issues affecting credit unions, representing its members before the federal government and the public.
