WASHINGTON – Credit unions and industry professionals whose standard of excellence yielded success in 2011 can garner national recognition through NAFCU’s 2012 Annual Awards Competition. NAFCU will be accepting entries through March 16.

“The credit union industry abounds with exemplary leaders who are strong role models to their colleagues, yet they seldom get the recognition they deserve,” said NAFCU President and CEO Fred Becker. “NAFCU’s Annual Awards are the perfect opportunity for credit unions to celebrate talent and reward success.”

This competition is free to enter and open to all natural person credit unions belonging to the National Association of Federal Credit Unions. Those interested in entering may visit www.nafcu.org/annualawards.

The entire awards program is now online with a streamlined submission process. The online format affords participants the opportunity to submit entry forms at their convenience. They can also start, stop, save and come back to an entry.

The NAFCU Awards Committee will select winners in the following categories: Federal Credit Union of the Year, CEO of the Year, Professional of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. All entries will be divided into two asset-size categories: credit unions with assets of less than $150 million and those with assets of $150 million or more.

Winners of NAFCU’s Annual Awards will be honored at NAFCU’s 45th Annual Conference & Exhibition at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, July 24 – 28, and profiled in an issue of The Federal Credit Union magazine.

In addition, winners will receive one free registration to any of NAFCU’s 2012 conferences. Winners in the asset size category of less than $150 million who select free registration for NAFCU’s 45th Annual Conference will also receive up to $500 reimbursement for travel to the conference.
