NAFCU statement on Contreras-Sweet confirmation as Administrator of Small Business Administration

WASHINGTON, DC (March 27, 2014) — National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) President and CEO Dan Berger issued the following statement today regarding the Senate confirmation of Maria Contreras-Sweet, as the new administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA):

“We congratulate Contreras-Sweet on her confirmation and look forward to working with her,” Berger said. “SBA is an important partner as it works to help facilitate, promote and encourage credit unions’ participation in its loan programs.”

Contreras-Sweet, a community bank owner in California, founded the Latino-owned ProAmérica Bank in 2006.
