NASCUS welcomes Rose Conner to Nascus Board; says goodbye to Utah Regulator Orla Beth Peck

Arlington, VA (August 6, 2014) --  Rose Conner, administrator of the North Carolina Credit Union Division, has been appointed to the NASCUS Board. Conner replaces Utah regulator Orla Beth Peck, who recently retired from her position as supervisor of credit unions with the Utah Department of Financial Institutions (DFI).

Peck joined the DFI as an examiner in 1981. She was named supervisor of credit unions in 1992. A longtime member of NASCUS, Peck was active on NASCUS committees and served as a trustee and chairman of the National Institute for State Credit Union Examination. Peck served on the NASCUS Board of Directors from 2007-2014. She served as NASCUS Board chair from 2011-2013.

“Orla Beth has brought so much to NASCUS and to the state of Utah,” said NASCUS President and CEO Mary Martha Fortney. “We greatly appreciate her service and appreciate her many years of service to NASCUS, dual chartering and the state credit union system. She has certainly earned her retirement, and she will be greatly missed.”

At the same time, Fortney congratulated Conner on her appointment to the NASCUS Board. “We are very excited about Rose’s appointment to the NASCUS Board and look forward to working with her on issues of concern to the state credit union system,” she said.

Conner, an active member of NASCUS, served as acting administrator of the North Carolina Credit Union Division until May 2014, when she was offered and accepted the appointed position of Division administrator.
