Navigant Credit Union Charitable Foundation awards $100k grant to Women & Infants Hospital

Funding will support capital campaign to renovate Women & Infants’ Labor and Delivery Unit

SMITHFIELD, RI (September 30, 2022) — The Navigant Credit Union Charitable Foundation has awarded a $100,000 grant to Women & Infants Hospital, marking the Foundation’s second major award in 2022.

Officially established in 2019, the Navigant Credit Union Charitable Foundation is an independent 501(c)3 public charity with the mission of fulfilling substantial grants that make a real difference in the Rhode Island community. The Foundation supports organizations and causes in Rhode Island dedicated to education, social services, arts & culture, public health, and civic duty.

The Navigant Credit Union Charitable Foundation’s $100,000 grant will support Women & Infants’ capital campaign to fund a more technologically advanced, state-of-the-art Labor and Delivery Unit. This award comes shortly after the Foundation announced its first-ever award, a $100,000 grant to support the El Centro Community Center in Central Falls.

“We are proud to support Women & Infants Hospital, a Rhode Island institution that has made a positive impact in the lives of countless individuals and families, including thousands of Navigant Credit Union members,” said Navigant Credit Union President / CEO Gary E. Furtado. “Having the ability to offer our support to large-scale efforts like this was our motivation for launching our Charitable Foundation. We look forward to continuing to play our part in making Rhode Island a better place to live and work.”
