NCUA names Markgraf to Region I Leadership Team

ALEXANDRIA, VA (January 30, 2014) – National Credit Union Administration Board Chairman Debbie Matz today announced the selection of Lynn Markgraf as Associate Regional Director for Programs in the agency’s Region I office.

Markgraf, who currently serves as a Region V Supervisory Examiner, will begin her new duties Feb. 23. She succeeds Marcia Sarrazin, who retired.

Markgraf joined NCUA in 1989, beginning her career as a District Examiner. She subsequently worked as Supervision Analyst, Insurance Analyst, a Program Officer in the agency’s Office of Examination and Insurance and Director of Insurance in Region V.

Markgraf holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, Ala.

Based in Albany, NCUA’s Region I presently oversees federally insured credit unions in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont and Wisconsin.

NCUA is the independent federal agency created by the U.S. Congress to regulate, charter and supervise federal credit unions. With the backing of the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government, NCUA operates and manages the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, insuring the deposits of nearly 96 million account holders in all federal credit unions and the overwhelming majority of state-chartered credit unions.
