Neighbors FCU hosting 7th annual charity sporting clays tournament April 3rd

BATON ROUGE, LA (December 9, 2019) — The Neighbors Capital Area Foundation is proud to present its 7th annual charity sporting clays tournament, “Clays For A Cause,” on Friday, April 3, 2020 at the Bridgeview Gun Club located at 1365 Northwest Dr., Port Allen, LA 70767. Registration will open at 9:00 AM, and the shoot will commence at 10:00 AM.

Four-person teams will compete in a 13-station, 100-shot course. Shooters may sign up in teams of four, or as an individual. Those interested in participating or sponsoring can do so at neighborsfcu.org/claysforacause. Gun rentals will be available on a limited basis for this event. Complimentary breakfast and lunch will be served for teams and a silent auction will be open throughout the day.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Neighbors Capital Area Foundation’s scholarship program, the Neighbors Way Tuition Assistance Award. The foundation has granted $45,000 in scholarships to local students in 2018 and 2019. In May, the foundation will award $50,000 in scholarships to graduating students from previously raised funds.

“All funds raised from this event go toward the Neighbors Capital Area Foundation, which uses the funds to provide scholarships for local students,” Neighbors President and CEO Steve Webb said. “Education is an investment that always yields dividends. That’s why we are proud to support local students.”

Clays For A Cause is one of three major fund sources for the scholarship program. The second source of funds is the Neighbors Employee Payroll Donation Program, where employees volunteer to have donations withheld from their paychecks.

The third source come from members with the NFCU Free Cash Back Checking Account. For every purchase, the credit union provides the member with five cents and contributes five cents to the foundation.

This event is open to all media members for coverage. Please RSVP with Preston Guy if you intend to attend.

About Neighbors Federal Credit Union

Neighbors Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative operating as an  association dedicated to "people helping people." A handful of educators started Baton Rouge  Teachers in 1954 with a shoe box, a couple hundred dollars and the goal of making financial  services available to school system employees in our area.   Now, Neighbors Federal Credit Union is the largest community-chartered credit union in the  state of Louisiana with over 80,000 members and over $1 billion in assets. Since that time,  Neighbors has undergone a variety of changes, but the mission has stayed the same: Enhance  members' financial well-being and be a partner in the communities Neighbors serves.
