APPLE VALLEY, MN (May 19, 2026) |
As the Minnesota Lynx begin the 2026 season, Wings Credit Union is celebrating its first year as an official team partner with new ways for members and fans to connect with the team and support the community.
Wings is introducing the first Minnesota Lynx co-branded debit card available to fans, launching this month for Wings members. The card gives Lynx supporters a new way to show their pride year-round. Wings is also among the first financial institutions to offer a co-branded debit card for a WNBA team, reflecting the credit union’s focus on investing in women’s sports and the teams its members care about.
Wings is also launching “Hoops for Hunger,” a season-long initiative that donates $20 to The Food Group for every three-pointer made by the Lynx during the 2026 regular season. The Food Group is a Twin Cities-based nonprofit that provides access to nutritious, quality food for Minnesotans.
“Wings is proud to support our hometown women’s basketball team and invest in the growing momentum behind women’s sports,” said Amy Nigrelli, Wings’ chief marketing officer and executive sponsor for the Lynx Changemakers program. “Through this partnership, our credit union has a wonderful opportunity to help our members and Lynx fans feel even more connected to the team, while also helping support food access through ‘Hoops for Hunger.’”
“Hoops for Hunger” builds on Wings’ recent Timberwolves program with Every Meal, which generated $16,545 from every Wolves regular season three-pointer made to help fight child hunger through school and community partnerships. With the Lynx season now underway, Wings is continuing that work by supporting food access for even more families across Minnesota.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Wings Credit Union as an official partner of the Minnesota Lynx,” said Mike Resnick, Lynx vice president of partnership marketing. “Wings has demonstrated a genuine commitment to supporting our community, and initiatives like Hoops for Hunger show how impactful partnerships can be when organizations come together around a shared purpose. We’re excited to work alongside Wings to create meaningful connections with fans while helping make a difference across Minnesota.”
