Northwest Federal Credit Union launches financial wellness program

Northwest Federal Credit Union recently introduced their new Financial Wellness Program by conducting a free seminar at the Herndon Senior Center in Herndon, Virginia. During the presentation, “Preventing Identity Theft and Fraud,” attendees learned from a member of Northwest Federal’s Fraud Mitigation Team how to avoid scams, navigate the internet, and better manage their personal and financial information.

“Senior citizens are particularly at risk of identity fraud, elder abuse, and other financial scams,” said Northwest Federal’s Senior Vice President of Member Experience, Jeff Margeson. “Financial literacy minimizes that risk, and it’s our goal through the new Financial Wellness Program to educate the community on a broad spectrum of financial topics.”

Northwest Federal Credit Union’s Financial Wellness Program has held seminars for the credit union’s company and community partners, local schools and community centers on topics from identity theft to saving for college.
