Notre Dame Federal Credit Union awards 24 scholarships to area students

NOTRE DAME, IN (May 22, 2024) — Notre Dame Federal Credit Union (Notre Dame FCU) awarded 24 scholarships to area high school and college students for the 2024-2025 academic school year. Recipients were celebrated during a reception on May 14 at the Morris Inn on the University of Notre Dame campus.

Reba Hayes, Committee Chair and Executive Administrative Assistant to the CEO, stated, “The student applicants this year were so enthusiastic as they described their future endeavors. It is an absolute joy to facilitate Notre Dame FCU’s scholarship program each year. This year’s 24 honorees are diverse and engaged young men and women whom I have no doubt are capable of achieving great things.”

The scholarship committee, comprised of Notre Dame FCU partners (employees) and members of its Board of Directors, chose these students based on their academic achievement, financial need, community involvement, academic activities, and leadership.

Notre Dame FCU’s President and CEO, Tom Gryp, added, “Notre Dame FCU is deeply committed to empowering families through financial resources and education. This scholarship program is a testament to that commitment, providing these talented students with the support they need to achieve their academic goals and contribute positively to society. The Notre Dame FCU scholarship program has now awarded over 300 scholarships since its inception. ”

Graduating High School Recipients:

  • Isabella Braschi will attend the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, major undeclared
  • Lois Carr will attend St. Mary of the Woods College, marketing major
  • Patrick M. Daher will attend Purdue University, engineering major
  • Alaina K. DeLater will attend Indiana University Indianapolis, nursing major
  • Ruth Haruna will attend the University of Saint Francis, pre-med and biology major
  • Payton J. Krueger will attend Purdue University, plant genetics, breeding, and biotechnology major
  • Emme Mowers will attend Bowling Green State University, nursing major
  • Maddie P. Mousaw will attend Franciscan University of Steubenville Ohio, sacred music and child development major
  • Thomas M. Murphy will attend Villanova University, business major
  • Olivia Purcell will attend the University of Notre Dame, environmental science major
  • Adelyn A. Rabbitt will attend IU Bloomington, journalism major
  • Michelle Yuan will attend Cornell University, hotel administration major

  • Brooke Borton attends the University of Notre Dame, neuroscience and behavior major
  • Larissa Evans attends Purdue University, chemical engineer major
  • Nathaly Gonzalez attends St. Mary’s College, nursing major
  • Theresa Haruna attends the University of Saint Francis, nursing major
  • Jonathan Liu attends Columbia University, data science major
  • Regina Murphy attends the University of Cincinnati, communications and ballet major
  • Addison Nally attends Glen Oaks Community College, electrical technologies major
  • Molly Oates attends IU Bloomington, biology major, minor in scientific skills and research integrity
  • Anna Raycroft attends St. Mary’s College, marketing and business administration major
  • Emma Sidorowicz attends Purdue University, kinesiology with a sports medicine concentration major
  • Nyah Smith attends Wheeling University, nursing major
  • Lucy Walker attends St. Mary’s College, liberal arts major
