Over 9,000 pounds of food collected for pet families in need

SDCCU was proud to support the San Diego Humane Society’s PAWS Food Program

San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, helped to collect over 9,000 pounds of food to support the efforts of the San Diego Humane Society’s PAWS Food Program, which provides pet food for families experiencing limited financial resources.

Donations of dry or wet cat and dog food were collected during November at many locations, including all of SDCCU’s San Diego County branches. The combined efforts collected more than 9,000 pounds of pet food, which will provide 46,500 meals for pet families in need. PAWS San Diego is the community’s safety net for pet families in need. The goal of the drive is to provide more than 1.5 million pet meals to those who need them most.

“We are glad to have been able to support San Diego Humane Society this year in collecting food for the PAWS Food Program,” said SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell. “The donations of our customers and the community will help those experiencing financial hardship to provide meals for their animals.”
