Pacific Marine Credit Union awards scholarships to college bound students

OCEANSIDE, CA (July 2, 2015) — Pacific Marine Credit Union (PMCU) awarded several scholarships in the local community including scholarships to Oceanside Unified School District’s College Bound students, Kaitlan Wilson and Hector Alcanta, and Temecula Valley Unified School District students, Abby Buxbaum and Emma-Jane Arenas.

“We are thrilled to award scholarships to these hard working students as they begin their college education”, said Brad Smith, Interim President/CEO. “This is just one of many ways PMCU gives back to our local community.”

About College Bound Oceanside

The College Bound Oceanside Program at Oceanside Unified School District is a four year program that prepares parents and students for college. Once a month on a Saturday, students and parents attend workshops on various topics including how to communicate with each other, how to finance your college education and campus tours of local colleges. All seniors who participated in this four year program this year have gained acceptance to their college of choice.

About Temecula Dollars for Scholars

Temecula Dollars for Scholars started in 1987 by a group of Temecula Valley High School parents, teachers, and community partners, who were dedicated to providing scholarships to high school seniors. The Organization has donated over $2.5 million in scholarships for graduates of Temecula Unified School District.
