Park Side Credit Union recognized as community leader with Circle of Excellence Award
WHITEFISH, MT (October 6, 2020) — Park Side Credit Union is honored to accept the Missoula Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2020 Circle of Excellence Award.
First presented in 1997, following the long tradition of a former award called the Champion Award, the Circle of Excellence award is presented to a local business that meets a high standard of community involvement and social responsibility. The Chamber believes that the first responsibility of any business is to maintain economic viability and profitability to ensure the ongoing employment of the citizens and ensure continued participation in the community—and Park Side Credit Union has done just that.
Following the Credit Union Philosophy of “People Helping People,” the credit union encourages their staff to get involved by providing each employee with 24 hours of paid community involvement time annually. In 2019, the credit union reported that 100% of its employees gave their time in the form of community involvement. A total of 570 hours of staff volunteer time was recorded last year alone.
“We never give back with the intention of being recognized or praised,” said Jeremy Presta, President/CEO. “We are tremendously grateful to have won this award and to have been acknowledged for our contributions to the community. Without our community, we wouldn’t be where we are today. In-hand with our staff, our community members are the foundation of our credit union. They drive us to do good and exemplify the Credit Union Philosophy.”
Operating since 1965, the $300 million credit union, has given more than $1 million in community donations and other forms of support. Their support includes donations to more than 15 organizations in the Missoula area through their innovative Partner Program.
“We give back because without our community and their ongoing support, we wouldn’t stand as tall as we do today,” said Deborah Stapley-Graham, Business Development & Community Outreach Coordinator. “It is important to our credit union’s leadership and staff to take the time to show the Missoula area how much they mean to us, and we feel honored that our dedication has been recognized with such a prestigious award.”
