Pelican State Credit Union gave away 531 free sno-cones

BATON ROUGE, LA (May 27, 2014) — Pelican State Credit Union gave away 531 free sno-cones to every single person who visited the Sno-Shack in Alexandria, Louisiana, from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014! The Sno-Shack Takeover was one part of Pelican’s mission to truly communicate the giving spirit of their credit union to its members and the communities it serves. The hashtag, #PelicanPays, describes the credit union’s drive to lend to the underserved, passion for charitable fundraising and volunteerism, and effort to host grassroots events that literally pay out cash and prizes.

In addition to the Sno-Shack Takeover, this year Pelican issued a Special Member Dividend of $350,000, raffled off thousands of dollars in cash and prizes during Member Appreciation Week, gave away $3,300 in cash in money booths at events, and awarded $6,000 in scholarship awards to graduating high school seniors. The credit union has several other #PelicanPays promotions planned for 2014. Search for the hashtag on FacebookTwitter and Instagram to keep up with Pelican’s other events throughout the year!
