PENSACOLA,FL (June 24, 2014) -- Pen Air Federal Credit Union representatives presented the Pensacola Humane Society with a check for $7,500 generated through internal fund raising efforts to support the no-kill shelter and adoption center for homeless animals.
The contribution was made possible largely due to Pen Air FCU’s Charitable Events Committee. The committee is made up of Pen Air FCU employees who through annual internal surveys determine which charities the credit union will focus fund raising efforts. This year the Pensacola Humane Society was selected as one of those charities.
Mr. Stu Ramsey, President/CEO of Pen Air FCU, was on hand during the presentation and commented, “It never ceases to amaze me the generosity that Pen Air FCU employees continue to display for their community. Staff held bake sales, chili cook-offs, jeans days, and other events to raise funds which the Credit Union matched. I am proud to present the check for $7,500 on their behalf as well as on behalf of Pen Air Federal Credit Union.”
Ms. Stephanie Snyder, Volunteer Coordinator for the Pensacola Humane Society and several board members were present to accept the donation. “The Pensacola Humane Society is very grateful for the funds and can put the funds to work right away.”
