Pennsylvania’s largest credit union issues community impact summary for 2018

HARRISBURG, PA (March 29, 2019) — Today, Pennsylvania’s largest credit union, PSECU, made public its annual Community Report Card. Available online at psecu.com/crc, the piece summarizes the organization’s 2018 efforts to support the well-being of its more than 450,000 members and the communities it serves across the state and beyond.

“PSECU’s annual Community Report Card aims to demonstrate to our valued members and partners that we place a priority on corporate social responsibility and on helping people achieve more in life,” said PSECU President Greg Smith. “We strive to follow the ‘people helping people’ credit union philosophy, and we believe this concept goes beyond providing high-quality products and services to our members. It also includes support of our communities’ needs, because by raising our collective health, strength, and vitality, everyone benefits.”

The 30-page report was curated and designed in-house with the goal of being simple to navigate and understand while still offering a comprehensive review of the credit union’s annual impact. Streamlined from previous editions, the content is divided into ten short subsections highlighting components of PSECU’s mission to serve as a trusted financial partner, such as member engagement and feedback, community giving and interaction, and financial education programming.

“Above all at PSECU, we aim to provide value to our members and to give them financial opportunities to live a better life,” Smith explained. “Our Community Report Card is an important tool because it helps us share that promise and show the ways we’re working to make a positive impact on the communities we serve. That communication is important because the more aware people are of the support we offer, the better able they will be to take advantage of it and to encourage others to do the same.”

PSECU has published its Community Report Card annually since 2014. It has been well received by readers – members and non-members alike – and often garners significant praise. Last year’s edition was honored internationally with a Platinum-level MarCom Award.
