People’s Credit Union honors employees

MIDDLETOWN, RI (February 21, 2014) — People’s Credit Union recently recognized employees for their dedication to member service and the community.  Kyle Horan, Desktop Support Analyst, was honored with the 2013 Employee of the Year Award.  Marie Everett, Newport Branch Manager and Andrea Berberick, Newport Head Teller, were both honored with the 2013 Volunteers of the Year Awards. 

“It is my pleasure to honor these three employees for what they have given to our members and to the community.  Kyle was recognized for his persistence and dedication to the success of People’s Credit Union. He exemplifies Service To Members Above All Else to both internal and external members. Marie and Andrea were both recognized for their exemplary commitment to sharing their time and talents in serving our communities,” commented Ellen Ford, People’s President & CEO.   

The Employee of the Year is selected from a group of employees that were nominated each trimester to People’s President’s Council.  The purpose of People’s President’s Council is to promote and reward excellence in meeting and exceeding service standards and core values of People’s Credit Union. 

Horan joined People’s Credit Union in 2001 as a teller.  Through the years he has been promoted to Member Service Representative, Branch Support Service Rep and to his current position as IT Support Technician.  He was recognized for putting the success of the organization first, working after hours and doing whatever it takes to ensure that all issues are addressed and the Credit Union’s operations are ready to serve its members. Horan is also a 4-H volunteer.  He resides in West Greenwich with his two children.    

The Volunteer of the Year Awards are given to both a management and non-management employee based on their time dedicated to non-profit organizations in the communities People’s serves.  The winners each received $500 to donate to the non-profit organization of their choice. 

Everett serves on the Board of Directors for the Visiting Nurse Services of Newport and Bristol Counties and for the Edward King House.  She is also an active volunteer with many other organizations in the community including the Rhode Island Mentoring Partnership.  She resides in Newport.    

Berberick volunteers at the Potter League for Animals helping socialize dogs and cats.  In addition, she plays the French horn in the Newport Community Orchestra and volunteers with her local church. She resides in Portsmouth.
