People’s Credit Union promotes Cottrell to Core Systems Manager
MIDDLETOWN, RI (June 13, 2014) — Christopher Eden, VP of Information Technology and Operations, is pleased to announce the promotion of Bethany Cottrell to Core Systems Manager. Prior to this promotion Cottrell was the Core Systems Analyst where she was responsible for working with end users and core and ancillary vendors to ensure the Credit Union’s technologies support strategic goals.
In her new role, Cottrell will act as the primary liaison between Credit Union business units and core banking application vendors regarding the proper and efficient usage of all core banking systems and related applications to ensure alignment with Credit Union goals and strategies. She is responsible for the overall training program of the Credit Union; ensuring training is consistent with and supportive of the Credit Union’s Strategic Training Plan.
Cottrell has been with the Credit Union for over 15 years. She has held many positions throughout the organization including Sales Coordinator, Core RFP Internal Coordinator, Training Specialist, Assistant Branch Manager, Branch Supervisor and Teller. For seven of her years at the Credit Union she was voted to People’s President’s council, an employee recognition program. She was awarded with the Employee of the Year award in 2006.

Cottrell is also a Cheer Coordinator and Board Member of the Portsmouth Youth Football Association. She resides in Portsmouth with her husband, Tony, and her two children.
