People’s Trust Federal Credit Union announces headquarters groundbreaking
Credit Union plans to support growing area underserved by traditional banking
HOUSTON, TX (June 30, 2015) — People’s Trust Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the groundbreaking of the credit union’s new corporate headquarters on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 9 a.m. located onsite of the future corporate office at 413 Bastrop Street, Houston, Texas.
“The new location will provide members with a modern and exciting service experience, as well as an opportunity for People’s Trust to support the growing populations of EaDo and East End communities with traditional financial service offerings,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Angela McCathran.
The new building is designed to deliver financial services more efficiently totaling 26,000 square feet with 4,000 square feet dedicated to member facing operations, member lounge areas and a coffee and refreshment bar, and two outdoor ATMs. With the community as a main focus and priority, there will be a large multi-purpose room for community partners and special event gatherings equipped with a large TV panel for presentations and multimedia sharing.
“Our goal is to cultivate relationships within the Houston community and enhance the lives of our members and our field of membership,” said Community Outreach Director Linda Birt. “In addition to the community room, the first floor highlights the history of credit unions along with the most memorable of Houston historical events.”
The 413 Bastrop Street flagship office is located on the block between Prairie and Preston near BBVA Compass Stadium, a central location for commuting People’s Trust employees.
“The credit union’s location has been for many years a leased space in Two Shell Plaza downtown at 811 Louisiana Street. Owning our own facility will provide protection against the rising lease rates of downtown Houston, free parking for both staff and members, unrestricted access to our space and an additional branch location to serve our members,” added Chief Financial Officer Steve Branstetter. “We elected to stay downtown since we are widely spread across the Houston area.”
