Piedmont Advantage Credit Union names new Community Development Manager in Wilmington, NC

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (February 27, 2014) –Piedmont Advantage Credit Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Lin Spears as the new Branch and Community Development Manager for southeast North Carolina and the Kenansville area. Spears’ will manage the Wilmington and Kenansville Branches and be responsible for the community development efforts in the southeast area of North Carolina.

“Lin comes to us with many years of financial services experience, specifically Home Mortgage Solutions, community and business development,” said Judy R. Tharp, Piedmont Advantage President and CEO.

Spears has an extensive background in banking in North Carolina and Florida.  He was a top producing mortgage lender who has also worked as a branch manager and sales manager for two of the largest Financial Institutions in the Southeast. Over the years, Spears built alliances with real-estate agents, the construction industry and many homebuilders.

Spears has a B.A. in Management/Economics from North Carolina State University.  He’s a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors, Wilmington – Cape Fear Homebuilders Association and the Palm Beach County Commission For Affordable Housing. Spears also serves on the School Improvement Team for New Hanover Co. Schools.
