Powered By Honor supports Teen Serve community reinvestment project in Plainwell

PLAINWELL, MI (May 13, 2015) — Powered By Honor is excited to contribute to bringing the Teen Serve program to Plainwell, Michigan with a $500 donation. From June 21 to 27, over 200 teenagers will be flooding the streets of Plainwell to complete community improvement projects on local homes within a 25-mile radius of Plainwell Middle School.

The June Teen Serve Workcamp taking place in Plainwell will mark the first time this program has come to the lower peninsula of Michigan. Founded in 1999, Teen Serve’s summer mission trips tour the country and greatly benefit each community they touch. An estimated 50 to 70 homes will be worked on at no cost to the homeowner. Work is done for residents who cannot complete the work themselves due to either physical or financial restrictions. Powered By Honor is proud to support an organization that will benefit the local community in such an impactful way.

Powered By Honor exists to partner with communities. In addition to corporate donations and sponsorships for many local organizations, Honor Credit Union team members contribute countless hours of service to organizations within its communities every year. Powered By Honor is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is largely funded by Honor Credit Union employees, in addition to a portion of Honor debit card interchange income. Honor Credit Union, a $618 million dollar credit union, provides a wide range of affordable financial services to more than 55,000 members across the State of Michigan.
