PrimeWay Federal Credit Union helps to send Houston kids back to school with supplies

HOUSTON, TX (July 7, 2015) — Wednesday, July,1, PrimeWay Federal Credit Union donated $5,000 to “Back 2 School,” a program co-sponsored by “The Rod Ryan Show” of 94.5 FM The Buzz and the Houston Children’s Charity, for the second year in a row.

During an on-air promotion that ran early morning July 1 on “The Rod Ryan Show,” PrimeWay pledged $2 for every Facebook “Like” it received, with an end goal of $5,000.

The Houston Children’s Charity “Back 2 School” program buys backpacks and school supplies for local school-aged children in need. The annual program has helped more than 14,850 children.

“We’re so happy that we could help provide the tools for children in our community to earn a solid education again this year.” said Mike Green, Community Relations Manager at PrimeWay. “It really felt great to see so many people in our community still so passionate and supportive of such a worthy cause. Not only were we able to have fun while doing something positive to uplift and support the youth in our community, but we were also able to make just as many new friends as we did last year, which again was just an amazing bonus.”

PrimeWay’s Facebook community substantially increased as a result of this promotion, allowing the credit union to continue to actively support meaningful causes and creatively give back to their community as much as possible. The credit union plans on executing more back to school drives/campaigns throughout the summer.
