ProFed Credit Union is proud to announce its successful participation in the Federal Home Loan Bank’s Launch and Revive programs, which bring vital assistance to our local community. In our commitment to empowering our members and neighbors, ProFed has distributed a total of $300,252 in support, facilitating pathways to homeownership and providing essential home repairs.
Through the Launch program, ProFed assisted seven members with $132,800 in down payment assistance grants, helping them to achieve their dreams of homeownership. We recognize that buying a home is not just a financial transaction; it’s a life-changing milestone that fosters stability and growth within our community.
Similarly, the Revive program has seen ProFed extend assistance to 13 members and non-members, totaling $167,452 in rehabilitation support for existing homes. This initiative reflects our dedication to preserving homeownership by addressing deferred maintenance repairs and accessibility upgrades, ensuring that all families can enjoy a safe and comfortable home. “We believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to thrive in their own home,” stated Alex Makridakis, Vice President of Mortgage at ProFed Credit Union. “Our partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank allows us to turn opportunity into action, and we are thrilled to have made a meaningful difference in the lives of 20 families within our community. ProFed’s commitment to serving goes beyond banking; it’s about building a foundation of support and hope.” The success of these programs underscores ProFed’s mission to assist both members and non-members with resources that uplift and empower.
As the 2025 fund availability is currently exhausted, we encourage our community to look to the upcoming Second Chance Round set to open on September 17, 2025. This opportunity will provide additional funding to eligible member institutions, allowing us to continue our efforts to create brighter futures for our neighbors. At ProFed, we are dedicated to exploring every avenue to enhance the wellness of our community. We’ll keep our members and the public informed of any developments relating to the Second Chance Round and other programs that can offer support.
