PSCU’s Enterprise Risk Officer up for Business Woman of the Year Award

Tampa Bay Business Journal selects Rini Fredette, eight others as finalists in under-40 group.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (July 29, 2014) — PSCU Enterprise Risk Officer, Rini Fredette, has been selected as a finalist for the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2014 Business Woman of the Year Award, PSCU announced today. Ms. Fredette joins eight other Tampa Bay area women as finalists in the category for women under 40. The 10th anniversary of Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Business Woman of the Year award recognizes the achievements of successful women in the Tampa Bay area. The awards ceremony is scheduled for August 22, 2014 in Tampa.

“In her work at PSCU, Rini has developed the foundation for a best-in-class Enterprise Risk Management function and gathered the support from our employees necessary to make this a leading edge program,” said Mike Kelly, PSCU President & CEO. “Rini’s work ethic and drive for success extends well beyond her professional accomplishments to her commitment to help others, as evidenced by the significant impact she has made in the development of PSCU’s Women’s Leadership and Diversity & Inclusion programs.”

Fredette’s career focus since 2004 has centered on enterprise risk management and data security. She has managed the people and processes needed to protect company brand and other assets from exposure to risk on numerous fronts. Her award submission noted her leadership in implementing an industry-leading Enterprise Risk Management Practice; deploying a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan to enable PSCU to act quickly during emergency events; as well as restructuring the company’s internal audit program to seamlessly integrate risk assurance across the organization.

“I am honored to be considered a candidate for this award, especially in the company of so many other successful women in the Tampa area,” said Fredette. “I’ve been blessed throughout my career with great colleagues, managers and mentors to help me progress and succeed in my particular field – never more so than during my tenure at PSCU. This nomination is a reflection of all their support and guidance.”

Fredette joined PSCU in 2011 after serving five years with Teleperformance, Inc. as their Director of Information Security, Compliance and Auditing where she managed eight global security teams in North and South America and Asia.
