PSECU supports Pink Zone for sixth consecutive year

HARRISBURG, PA (February 9, 2021)

PSECU, Pennsylvania’s anytime, anywhere digital credit union, proudly sponsors the 14th annual Pink Zone event, scheduled for February 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Typically held in conjunction with a Penn State women’s basketball game, Pink Zone aims to raise awareness, funds, and support for breast cancer research and empower its survivors. This year’s Pink Zone has been restructured as a Virtual Brunch and Learn featuring award-winning ESPN reporter and cancer survivor Holly Rowe as the guest speaker.

“In addition to offering high-quality financial products and services, PSECU is a dedicated community partner that helps make our communities healthier, stronger, and more vibrant for everyone to enjoy,” said PSECU President and CEO George Rudolph. “Pink Zone has been a great partner in that effort, and on behalf of our more than 475,000 members, we are excited to help welcome guest speaker Holly Rowe and to once again support this meaningful and worthwhile cause.”

Funds raised by Pink Zone’s year-round efforts are distributed to beneficiaries that provide breast cancer education, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Since 2007, it has raised more than $3.2 million for the cause.

This year’s Pink Zone beneficiaries include Mount Nittany Health, Penn State Cancer Institute, Kay Yow Cancer Fund, the PA Breast Cancer Coalition, Penn Highlands/JC Blair Memorial Hospital, and Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

“The past year has been so challenging for everyone but especially for those fighting breast cancer,” said Pink Zone Executive Director Patricia Fulvio. “We are so grateful for PSECU’s support. It means more this year than ever.”

Marking its sixth consecutive year of support, PSECU contributed $2,500 to the Pink Zone cause as a Contributing Sponsor. PSECU also supports breast cancer initiatives through an annual sponsorship of the PA Breast Cancer Coalition Conference.

“PSECU is honored to be a part of this powerful reminder of why ongoing breast cancer research, education, diagnosis, and treatment is so important,” added Wyatt Troxell, PSECU’s State College Regional Director.
