WEST LAFAYETTE, IN (January 31, 2023) — Purdue Federal Credit Union (Purdue Federal) has announced the hiring of James Dougherty as Vice President of Retail Sales and Service. In his position, Mr. Dougherty is responsible for overseeing our Branch Network, Contact Center, and Investment Services. One of his top priorities is to ensure that members of Purdue Federal have the best experience possible.
Mr. Dougherty graduated from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania with a political science bachelor’s degree. After graduating he and his wife, Kimberly, moved to the Indianapolis area. This is where he started his financial industry career at Union Federal Bank. While working as a Branch Manager, Mr. Dougherty decided to return to school to receive his MBA from Anderson University. He brings over 20 years of financial experience to the credit union by holding various roles from Branch Manager to Vice President. Most recently, Mr. Dougherty was Vice President of Branch Operations with Publix Employees Federal Credit Union in Lakeland Florida. He hopes to make a difference in our community and for members by getting the opportunity to make changes and adjustments that will positively impact his team’s ability to do their jobs effectively. In return, the changes will allow his team to provide Purdue Federal’s members with better service.
Outside of work Mr. Dougherty enjoys volunteering. His most memorable experiences have been delivering food through Meals on Wheels in Michigan, conducting financial literacy classes in Indianapolis, and spending time organizing and distributing food through Second Harvest in Florida. He is happy to be back in central Indiana where he enjoys the people, the atmosphere, and the changing seasons.
