Re: Operation We Care

SEAFORD, DE (March 31, 2014) — In support of local, deployed soldiers, Sussex County Federal Credit Union has partnered with Operation We Care (OWC) to serve as a care package collection center, now thru May 14, 2014.  Members of the local community interested in donating care package items, can pick up a soldier’s needs list at any of the 4 Sussex County Federal Credit Union Branches, which are located in Seaford, Lewes, Milford and Millsboro.  Collection containers are available at each location, with the contents being sorted, packaged and shipped in alignment with Armed Forces Day. Within the past 3 years, more than

800 care package items have been shipped to our patriotic heroes thru the Operation We Care project.

Operation We Care is a community based project that started more than 7 years ago, to show support, encouragement, love and thanks to our hometown soldiers, who have been deployed in harms way. Operation We Care is sustained strictly by volunteers and driven by the desire to show appreciation for the sacrifices local soldier’s experience in an effort to protect our freedom. To support the program, OWC partners with local businesses, such as Sussex County FCU, whom serve as drop-off locations for care package items, typically aligning with Veteran’s Day and Armed Forces Day. Sharee Coleman, Vice President of Marketing stated, “Sussex County FCU employees, volunteers and members represent proud Americans…partnering with Operation We Care was a perfect complement to support our local community, its soldiers and their families”.  For more information about Operation We Care, visit www.operationwecare.org.
