Redwood Credit Union strikes fundraising success bowling for kids’ sake
Teams Raise More Than $12,500 for Local Big Brothers Big Sisters
SANTA ROSA, CA (April 28, 2014) — 25 teams of employees from Redwood Credit Union (RCU) recently participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” at Double Decker Lanes in Rohnert Park, CA. Nearly 150 volunteers from RCU, including employees, family and friends, bowled to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of the North Bay, a mentoring program that creates a positive impact on children of low-income and/or single-family households. In addition to volunteer support and the Credit Union’s corporate sponsorship, RCU staff collected monetary pledges and donations for the nonprofit, bringing RCU’s collective contributions to more than $12,500.
“The Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids’ Sake event is always a favorite with RCU staff and their families,” said Judy Sepik, Assistant Vice President of Member Services, who leads RCU’s participation in the event. “We’re extremely proud of our teams’ success in increasing volunteers and fundraising for this event every year.”
RCU demonstrates their commitment to the communities they serve in a variety of ways through volunteerism, fundraising and donations, sponsorship, leadership on nonprofit boards, free financial literacy programs and more. Each year, RCU supports numerous local nonprofits including the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County, Tomorrow’s Leaders Today, the American Red Cross, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, United Way and others.
