Registration opens for Xpress Data’s 2015 Credit Union Chili Challenge

Third annual event will again raise money for charity

SAN DIEGO, CA (June 16, 2015) — Xpress Data, Inc., a leading provider of print and electronic document services for credit unions across the country today announced that online registration is now open for the Xpress Data 2015 Credit Union Chili Challenge. The annual event, which is sanctioned by the International Chili Society, will be held August 8 at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club racetrack in Del Mar, Calif. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a great day of chili and horse racing.

“There’s a spirit of friendly competition in the credit union industry, and this is a great opportunity to see it in action,” said Xpress Data founder Mike Cooper. “The fact that it’s a charity event makes it even better.” Cooper stated that a total of $10,000 in prize money will be donated to charities designated by the first, second and third-place winners.

The credit unions each provide a $500 entry fee which goes to the prize money, and Xpress Data furnishes each credit union with a 10-foot by 10-foot canopy, two eight-foot tables, two chairs, a two-burner propane stove with propane, a nine-foot custom banner produced from artwork provided by the credit union, one parking pass, and four admission tickets to the racetrack. Credit unions need only provide their chili ingredients and utensils.

“This event is great fun and I’m happy to report that it continues to grow each year,” said Cooper. “We had six credit unions commit before we even opened registration.” Those credit unions are Eagle Community Credit Union, OE Federal Credit Union, Kinecta Federal Credit Union, Cabrillo Credit Union, POPA Credit Union and Pacific Marine Credit Union. Interested credit unions can register online at www.xdi.com/ChiliChallenge.
