Renowned legal expert Jennifer Williams joins SW&M LLP as Of Counsel, strengthening the firm’s financial institution law practice

Jennifer will serve as Of Counsel, bringing her exceptional expertise in credit union law, regulatory compliance, privacy and cybersecurity, lending, audit, enterprise risk management, as well as fraud and loss prevention.

Prior to joining SW&M, Jennifer held various positions at prominent broker dealers in New York, NY, establishing a solid foundation in financial services law. In 2011, she embarked on a new chapter in her career, transitioning to the credit union industry. Jennifer began her journey as the Chief Legal Counsel for Aventa Credit Union in Colorado Springs, CO, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the institution’s legal structure. She later assumed the position of Vice President of Risk Management at California Coast Credit Union in San Diego, CA, further honing her expertise in risk mitigation strategies. Most recently, Jennifer served as the General Counsel & Chief Risk Officer for Frontwave Credit Union in Oceanside, CA, where she provided guidance in navigating legal complexities.
Recognized for her industry knowledge, Jennifer is a highly sought-after speaker at credit union conferences, sharing her insights on various legal and regulatory matters. She remains dedicated to elevating the credit union movement and actively engages with civic organizations, making a positive impact beyond her professional responsibilities.
Jennifer holds Bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice, History, and Political Science, obtained her Juris Doctor (JD) from Indiana University School of Law and has licenses to practice in Colorado and New York.
