RTN announces promotion of Nicole James to Executive Vice President

WALTHAM, MA (June 29, 2020) — RTN Federal Credit Union announces the promotion of Nicole James to Executive Vice President. James has served as RTN’s Senior Vice President of Retail Services since 2012 and formerly served as President and CEO of Medical Area Federal Credit Union (MAFCU) until its merger into RTN in 2012.

Since being with RTN, James has been responsible for the branch network of 19 branches, as well as the lending, marketing, and business development areas. In James’ expanded role, her responsibilities now include direct oversight and management of all departments, and continued involvement in long-range planning, facilitating optimal economic performance and ensuring established goals are met.       

“Nicole’s breadth of knowledge and management skills have been instrumental in our Credit Union’s effectiveness in serving our membership,” says Richard Wright, RTN’s CEO and Treasurer. “During the COVID-19 pandemic, she has taken a leading role in coordinating our response to this crisis and has ensured we provide the utmost safety for our employees and members. Nicole has demonstrated her leadership and effective management skills since coming to RTN and will continue to play a key role in navigating our strategic direction.”

James has served on the Board of Directors of various organizations representing a cross-section of industries. She served for many years as a member of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Credit Union League (now Cooperative Credit Union Association) and served as Chair its Social Responsibility Committee from 2004 to 2016.

James has been involved in national credit union strategic projects, as well as political advocacy efforts for credit unions at the state and national level. James received a B.S. Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Boston University, and earned a Juris Doctorate magna cum laude from the Suffolk University School of Law.
