RTN Employees provide dinner at Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen

WALTHAM, MA (July 1, 2020) — The RTN Federal Credit Union Employees Community Outreach Committee provided dinner on June 30 for men and women at the Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen in Waltham.

During the pandemic, Bristol Lodge has been providing “to go meals” to avoid large gatherings that are not safe and can be high risk for the spread of COVID-19.  RTN purchased and provided a menu of submarine sandwiches, individual fruit cups and bags of potato chips.  RTN volunteers dropped off the food at Bristol Lodge to be packaged and distributed to those who stop by to pick up the meal.

“Our ongoing partnership with Bristol Lodge is very special and we thank RTN’s employees’ volunteer spirit in action to help those in need, especially during this difficult time,” comment Robin Hartnett, RTN’s Director of Human Resources and Committee Chair. “A crisis is the most important time to help others. We are fortunate to work for an organization and an industry that is committed to community every day.”

The Lodge is one of the non-profit organizations and charities in local communities that the Employees Community Outreach Committee supports regularly through personal donations and contributions of RTN employees’ time. Bristol Lodge is a program of the Middlesex Human Services Agency, a long-time RTN employer group. The soup kitchen, located at Immanuel United Methodist Church on Moody Street, serves daily hot meals for local residents in need.
