SAC Federal Credit Union merges with NAFCO Federal Credit Union in Grand Island
SAC Federal Credit Union, Nebraska’s largest locally owned credit union, announces merger with NAFCO Federal Credit Union in Grand Island, Nebraska. NAFCO Federal Credit Union is transitioning to become part of SAC Federal Credit Union.
PAPILLION, NE (June 27, 2014) — SAC Federal Credit Union (SAC FCU), Nebraska’s largest locally owned credit union, today announced that it has merged with NAFCO Federal Credit Union (NAFCO FCU) in Grand Island, Nebraska. NAFCO Federal Credit Union will transition and become part of SAC Federal Credit Union. The merger, which begins July 1, 2014, will be complete August 1, 2014.
“The merger of NAFCO FCU and SAC FCU is an exciting representation of credit unions working together,” said Gail DeBoer, President of SAC FCU. “We have a long history of providing innovative and trusted banking solutions to our members. This merger will allow us to extend the credit union advantage to NAFCO FCU members, employees of SpartanNash and immediate family members of these groups.”
“Today we serve more than 80,000 members across the globe, and we are pleased to welcome NAFCO FCU members to the SAC FCU family,” DeBoer added.
Members will have access to expanded services, including a variety of checking and savings options, wealth management and investment services, and commercial banking services. SAC FCU also offers members online banking, mobile banking or banking by phone, thousands of fee-free ATMS nationwide and 23 branches in Nebraska and western Iowa.
“The merger will provide added products and services for the NAFCO FCU members while maintaining the existing team at the Grand Island branch,” said Terri Jewell, Grand Island Branch Manager. “It is truly a merger of great benefit to both credit unions.”
SAC FCU will assume operations in what is currently the NAFCO FCU branch located at 2115 West State St., Grand Island. The location’s hours of operation will remain the same: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon.
