Sageworks Bank Information launches Excel Add-In for custom report-building

RALEIGH, NC (November 17, 2014) -- Sageworks Bank Information, a web-based data platform that includes financial and regulatory information on every U.S. bank, credit union and bank holding company, today announced the addition of an Excel Add-In tool for custom report-building. The new tool, which resides within Excel, enables users to pull thousands of data items on U.S. banks, credit unions and bank holding companies from the Sageworks Bank Information database into a spreadsheet based on custom parameters and formatting options. It also offers one-click “refreshability” that automatically updates existing reports built in the platform.

The Excel Add-In tool is one of the most significant refreshes to the platform since the Sageworks Bank Information launched in May. It allows users to build robust, customized reports of three types:

  • A report that includes multiple time periods and financial metrics (all customized by the user) for any individual U.S. bank, credit union or bank holding company.
  • A report that includes data on multiple institutions and multiple financial metrics for a specific time period.
  • A report that compares a specific data item, most often a financial metric, across multiple institutions and time periods.

Product Manager Jackie Drumm added, “The Sageworks Bank Information Excel Add-In allows financial institutions and anyone analyzing financial institutions access to all of the data they need, exactly where they need it: in Excel. The Excel Add-In is unique in that it does not confine users to a step-by-step 'wizard' process when building reports, it allows them the flexibility to structure reports in any order with dynamically-updated previews. This makes report generation simple, no matter how complex the data being analyzed.”

The Excel Add-In allows users to generate an unlimited quantity of custom reports and also meets users’ common reporting needs by providing data to create a summary income statement comparing an individual institution to its peers, a capital report summarizing an institution’s compliance with capital requirements compared to its peers and other reports on asset quality, earnings and loan portfolio composition.
