San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is proud to support Green Friday in partnership with the County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation and Live Well San Diego. Green Friday, scheduled for November 27, encourages the community to save some green and enjoy outdoor experiences throughout San Diego County on a day often spent by many holiday shopping for special discounts and Black Friday deals.
Green Friday activities will be held both in-person and virtually this year and include tree planting, nature trivia, fitness meet-ups, story trails and more. For in-person events, attendees are required to adhere to safety guidelines. All events are free, family-friendly, educational, encourage activity and are designed to celebrate enjoying nature or the ‘upside of outside’. For more information and a list of activities visit www.livewellsd.org.
“We are pleased to support the County of San Diego and Live Well San Diego and help spread the word about this exciting initiative,” said Teresa Campbell, SDCCU president and CEO. “San Diego County offers some of the most beautiful parks, preserves and beaches in the region and we encourage members of the community to get outside and enjoy Green Friday safely.”
The County Board of Supervisors launched Live Well San Diego in 2010 with the goal of achieving healthy, safe and thriving communities across the region by partnering with community and city leaders, schools, businesses, non-profit organizations and residents. SDCCU was the first financial institution to be designated a Live Well San Diego partner due to its many efforts to create a healthy, safe and thriving San Diego County.
