San Diego County Credit Union executive named CFO of the Year
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 14, 2014) — San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, has announced that Ashlee Micale, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President, has been awarded CFO of the Year at the 8th annual CFO of the Year Awards event hosted by the San Diego Business Journal, a San Diego-based weekly business newspaper.
Micale was selected by a panel of peer judges for her award in the “business non-profit” category. A crowd of more than 560 people attended the awards presentation and reception held March 19 at the Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego’s Mission Bay area.
Event organizers said Micale was recognized for the role she plays in the success of SDCCU, including her ability to inspire others to work together and find solutions to business challenges. She was among six local CFOs who received recognition in other business categories.
Micale, who joined SDCCU in 2012, provides a strategic role in the overall financial management of SDCCU. Micale has direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning and treasury functions, and reports to Teresa Halleck, SDCCU’s president and CEO.

Her exemplary combination of business judgment and professional skills have added valued for our employees and customers.”
Prior to joining SDCCU, Micale served as CFO at Denver-based Public Service Credit Union since 2005. She also worked at Colorado United Credit Union in Denver. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, majoring in accounting, and a master’s degree in business administration, both from the University of Colorado.
Micale is involved in the credit union industry as a member of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) CFO Council and has spoken at CFO Council national conferences.
