San Diego County Credit Union is named sponsor of Aztec Basketball
SDCCU is supporting San Diego State University’s 2014-2015 basketball season
SAN DIEGO, CA, (September 29, 2014) — San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is supporting local college athletics as a sponsor of the San Diego State University (SDSU) Aztec Basketball 2014-2015 season, which begins in November.
The men’s team is considered the preseason favorite to repeat as Mountain West Conference champions. San Diego State enters the 2014-2015 campaign as the 16th-ranked team nationally in Sporting News’ College Basketball Yearbook. At number 16, SDSU is the only school from California in the poll and the only Mountain West representative. In addition, ESPN ranks the Aztecs No. 19 in its college basketball future power rankings. Head coach Steve Fisher, a two-time national coach of the year, is now in his 16th season on Montezuma Mesa.
The Aztecs, both men’s and women’s teams, play their home games at Viejas® Arena, located on the SDSU campus. Viejas Arena seats 12,414 for basketball and up to 12,845 for concerts. Viejas has been sold out for 38 consecutive men’s games. The venue has led the state of California in basketball game attendance among all colleges and universities over the past four years. The SDCCU logo will be visible at Viejas Arena on turnstiles, video screens and scoreboards for both basketball games and concerts.
