San Diego County Credit Union returns as sponsor of San Diego LGBT Pride celebration
“Liberty and Justice for All” theme calls for equality for all people
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 17, 2015) — San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®) San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is a proud sponsor of the 41st San Diego LGBT Pride celebration, held July 17 – 19 in San Diego’s Hillcrest area. This year’s theme, “Liberty and Justice for All” calls for equality for all people across the globe.
“We want to ensure that everyone feels welcome at SDCCU and supporting Pride is one way to do that while helping an organization that gives back to the community,” said Teresa Halleck, San Diego County Credit Union President and CEO.
San Diego’s Pride celebration has grown to become a premier event in California for the LGBT community, featuring a block party, mile-long parade through Hillcrest and two-day festival in Balboa Park. Today, July 17 at 7 p.m., the Pride of Hillcrest Block Party will kick off the weekend of festivities. Tomorrow, July 18, over 200,000 cheering spectators and thousands of participants, including Team SDCCU, will gather for the annual San Diego LGBT Pride Parade. The parade—fourth largest of its kind in the United States—begins at 11 a.m. at University Ave. and Normal St.
The festival will feature more than 300 exhibit booths, including SDCCU’s, three stages of entertainment, music, comedy and dance performers, an art exhibit, farmers market, beer gardens, wine grotto, children’s garden and food. The festival is held Saturday, July 18, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, July 19, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, visit sdpride.org.
