San Diego County Credit Union returns as sponsor of the 2021 San Diego LGBTQ+ Pride Celebration

San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is a proud sponsor of the 47th San Diego LGBTQ+ Pride celebration, held as a hybrid event this year, including both virtual and in-person community events happening July 10-18.

“SDCCU is proud to return as a sponsor of San Diego LGBTQ+ Pride again this year and support the 2021 celebration with a mix of both in-person and virtual events. As a longtime supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, we want to make sure everyone always feels included and welcomed at SDCCU,” said Teresa Campbell, SDCCU president and CEO.

San Diego’s Pride celebration has grown to become a premier event in California for the LGBTQ+ community bringing over 320,000 spectators in 2019 and $26.6 million in total economic impact to San Diego. Although the in-person parade and festival were cancelled last year due to Covid-19, the celebration continued live on sdpride.org, Facebook and YouTube and reached nearly 10 million people and had over 300,000 online viewers. The celebration will continue this year in a hybrid setting, with live and virtual events on sdpride.org, Facebook and YouTube.

The celebration kicks off on Saturday, July 10 with “She Fest”, the annual LGBTQ+ woman-centered event that celebrates and supports the talents and contributions of women in the community. This event will be followed by “Light Up the Cathedral” on July 14, “Spirit of Stonewall Rally” on July 16 and “Pride Live” on July 17. The Pride Live online feature event is the exciting all-day livestream showcasing everything that makes San Diego Pride a uniquely special experience. The event will highlight community leaders, organizations, entertainers, elected officials, businesses and A-list celebrities, all from the safety and comfort from your home or mobile device. The virtual Pride 5K will run from July 16-18, allowing participants to choose their own path and upload their time and photos online. There will also be a limited amount of Pride Community Events in-person for the celebrations spread across San Diego County the last two days of the week on July 17 and 18.
