San Diego County Credit Union sponsors 2019 Southwest Riverside County Heart and Stroke Walk

Donate to the cause at any SDCCU branch location in Riverside County

San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is a proud sponsor of the 2019 Southwest Riverside County Heart and Stroke Walk. Throughout the month of February, SDCCU is proud to join the fight against these deadly diseases by collecting donations at its branch locations in Riverside County.

“With cardiovascular disease affecting hundreds of thousands of individuals each year, we are proud to do our part to help build healthier lives by supporting the 2019 Southwest Riverside County Heart and Stroke Walk. We encourage the entire community to join together in the fight against heart disease and donate at one of SDCCU’s Temecula or Murrieta branch locations,” said SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell.

This year’s walk takes place on April 13 at 5 p.m. at Lake Skinner in Winchester, Calif. Thousands of individuals will participate in the walk to join in the fight against heart disease and stroke. The annual 5k, now in its 9th year, aims to raise $150,000 to help in the fight against the nation’s number one and number five killers. The Heart & Stroke Walk also aims to build healthier lives by promoting healthy habits, such as walking, as a regular part of life.

Heart disease and stroke claim more than 831,000 lives each year. The American Heart Association aims to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent while reducing deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20 percent by the year 2020. The Heart & Stroke Walk brings communities together to help achieve this goal, raising funds to support lifesaving cardiovascular research, community education outreach and improvement of patient care.
