San Francisco Federal Credit Union employees finish SACTOWN Ten-Mile Run

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (April 16, 2014) -- Four employees of San Francisco Federal Credit Union, a not- for-profit, member-owned financial institution serving San Francisco and San Mateo Counties, ran the Credit Union SACTOWN Ten-Mile Run in Sacramento, Calif., on April 6, 2014.

The race benefits the 170 children’s hospitals that belong to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH), a nonprofit international organization that treats millions of children in the U.S. and Canada. San Francisco Federal Credit Union raised $2,500 through fundraising and donations that will go to the Credit Union’s CMNH, Children’s Hospital Oakland.

“We’ve participated in the SACTOWN Ten-Mile for three years through employee participation in the race and fundraising efforts for this worthwhile cause,” said Steven Stapp, President and CEO of San Francisco Federal Credit Union. “The partnership between credit unions nationwide and the CMNH has provided meaningful support to patients and families, and we’re proud to be involved.”

Stapp completed the race along with Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer Jude Gogan, Electronic Processing Center Representative Melissa Welch and Financial Services Representative Ali O’Shea.

San Francisco FCU and other credit unions raise funds for CMNH under the Credit Unions for Kids (CU4Kids) brand. Credit union donations raised through the SACTOWN Ten-Mile Run and other activities are totaled through CU4Kids. Since the program’s inception in 1996, credit unions have raised more than $100 million.

“We’re honored to support CMNH and look forward to continuing our involvement,” said Stapp.
