Sb1 honored to be first onsite MBA cohort location

PHILADELPHIA, PA (May 4, 2015) — Thirteen Sb1 Federal Credit Union employees have begun working toward their MBA at work thanks to a program offered by Holy Family University in conjunction with the local credit union.

In searching for an education partner, Sb1 began working with Holy Family University to offer its employees the chance to earn their MBA at the Sb1 offices. The program, developed in conjunction with the educator, is likely to become a model for future expansion of the MBA program. The Holy Family University currently uses the cohort format only at area hospitals for its Ug RN-BSN program.

“This partnership has already been a wonderful addition to our employee compensation package,” states Rob Werner, Sb1 President and CEO. “Within three months of starting the program, our employees were busy working toward their MBA right here at work.”

Every Wednesday, Sb1 employees take part in the program that offers employer-location classes. The unique program utilizes the Harvard case – study model, teaching students how to be elite managers and problem solvers. By the completion of the course, MBA recipients will have the ability to put what they learn into practice at the Philadelphia-based credit union.

“I have been impressed by the employees at Sb1,” said Christopher Quinn, Director of Extended Learning Programs with Holy Family University. “It seemed to me that Sb1 made a conscious choice to hire talented people…This in turn gives me a great opportunity to demonstrate to other companies about who we are, what we do, and how successful it can be.”
