Schwartz wins re-election, Fisher and Easterling win NAFCU Board seats

WASHINGTON, DC (May 6, 2015) – The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) announced that Debra Schwartz and Robert Fisher have secured at-large seats on the association’s Board of Directors in voting that closed Monday. Gary Easterling secured the Region I director seat running unopposed. Their terms will begin after the Annual Business Meeting on June 23, 2015, in Montreal.

Schwartz, president and CEO of Mission Federal Credit Union (San Diego, Calif.); Fisher, president and CEO of Grow Financial Federal Credit Union (Tampa, Fla.); and Easterling, CEO of United Federal Credit Union (St. Joseph, Mich.); were all elected to three-year terms.

“Interest in NAFCU’s board continues to grow each election cycle and we thank all of the candidates for serving their association and our industry,” said Ed Templeton, NAFCU chair and president and CEO of SRP Federal Credit Union. “NAFCU’s continued focus on being the best in advocacy, education and compliance clearly resonates with credit unions.”

Also serving on the NAFCU board are:

  • Richard Harris, president and CEO of Caltech Employees Federal Credit Union (La Canada, Calif.) and board vice chairman;
  • Jeanne Kucey, president and CEO of  JetStream Federal Credit Union (Miami Lakes,  Fla.), and board treasurer;
  • Martin Breland, president and CEO of Tower Federal Credit Union (Laurel, Md.);
  • Cutler Dawson, president and CEO of Navy Federal Credit Union (Merrifield, Va.);
  • Thomas DeWitt, president and CEO of State Farm Federal Credit Union (Bloomington, Ill.);
  • Michael Parsons, president and CEO of First Source Federal Credit Union (New Hartford, N.Y.);
  • Jan Roche, president and CEO of State Department Federal Credit Union (Alexandria, Va.);
  • Rod Taylor, president and CEO of Barksdale Federal Credit Union (Barksdale AFB, La.); and
  • Daniel Weickenand, CEO of Orion Federal Credit Union (Memphis, Tenn.).

NAFCU’s Annual Business Meeting is held in conjunction with the association’s 48th Annual Conference and Solutions Expo. The conference takes place June 23-26, 2015, in Montreal and is open to NAFCU members and nonmembers.

The National Association of Federal Credit Unions is the only national trade association that exclusively represents the interests of federally chartered credit unions before the federal government and the public.
