Security Service Charitable Foundation donates $5,000 to Pueblo Catholic Charities

SAN ANTONIO, TX (December 11, 2020) — The Security Service Charitable Foundation is providing Pueblo Catholic Charities with a $5,000 donation to provide diapers for families in need. Through their diaper bank, Pueblo Catholic Charities is working to decrease the likelihood of child abuse and neglect while promoting family strength and optimal child development. In addition to operating the diaper bank, Pueblo Catholic Charities also fights poverty with a two-generation approach through child abuse prevention, school readiness, family resources support, life skills, and health and wellness.

“The Security Service Charitable Foundation’s $5,000 donation will help us provide 12,000 diapers to infants whose families are facing poverty,” said Jade Lopez, development officer for Pueblo Catholic Charities. “Alleviating this cost for a family, even slightly, is extremely helpful and proven to increase the health of babies and families.”

Pueblo Catholic Charities’ diaper assistance program comes primarily from partner donations. Through this community support, Pueblo Catholic Charities works constantly to distribute diapers across the region to those who need them most.

“Like hunger, a lack of diapers has a profound impact on a child and their family,” said Derrick Aguilar, senior vice president of member service—Mountain Region for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “Ensuring that every baby can be clean, dry, and healthy is a basic need that should be met for all families.”

The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union’s market areas.
